Answer:

Explanation:

Carribean colonies - Martinique, Guadelope and San Domingo

There was a shortage of labour in these islands. People here used to  grow tobacco, indigo, sugar and coffee. Since there was a shortage of labour it led to a triangular slave trade between Europe, Africa and Amercica. Slave trade began in 17th century. French merchants sailed from the ports of Nantes and Bordeaux to the African coast, where they ''buyed'' slaves from local chieftans. They were bundled and sent to the carrribean islands near America and they were made to work for about 10-15 hours a day and were payed very low wages. The  exploitation of these slaves made it possible to meet the growing demands in European markets for sugar, coffee and indigo.

In 18th century, the Convention which in 1794 legislated to free all slaves in the French overseas possessions. This however turned out to be a short term measure.10 years later Napolean reintroduced slavery.

Slavery was finally abolished in French colonnies in 1848.
