It is a product of Earth Summit (United Nations Conference of Environment and Development) held in Rio – de Janeiro, Brazil in June 1992. Representatives from 178 countries participated in the Summit. An outline was presented in this summit under the name of Agenda – 21. It is a detailed document in which problems related to environmental pollution and their remedies are highlighted. Agenda – 21 is an effort to save the earth from greenhouse effect as well as global warming.
