The Anglo-Mysore Wars fought  between the Kingdom of Mysore on the one hand, and the British East India Company (represented chiefly by the Madras Presidency)As per the treaty, Tipu had to cede half of his kingdom to the English including the areas of Malabar, Dindigul, Coorg and Baramahal.(this was after the war).
