Antonio and Bassanio were true friends.They were so great friends that they were willing to sacrifice their lives in order to help each other.
Antonio’s love for Bassanio can be seen in act1 scene 3 by his decision of sacrificing his life to his biggest foe Shylock in order to supply Bassanio with his needs . On the other hand he also was scared to lose Bassanio. Although he had many friends but he considered Bassanio as his best companion .
Bassanio love for Antonio can be seen in the trial scene where he was ready to give his own flesh and blood and even his dear wife to save Antonio from the clutches of the fiend Shylock. His act of leaving his newly wed wife and reach Venice to save Antonio also shows his affection for him.
This love shows the pureness of their heart and also that unconditional love does exist.
