The Bastar Rebellion took place in Bastar district, southern Chhattisgarh state, India in 1910. The rebellion was in reply to perceived exploitation of locals by the British colonial government.

The people of Bastar rebelled with Gunda Dhur as the leader.. They looted the bazaar and robbed the houses of officials associated with implementation of forest law. To cimpress the rebellion, the british fired the houses of the people and punished those who took part in the rebellion. But they were neverable to catch Gunda Dhur. Finally they reduced the reservation of the forest to half they had decided
