Reasons of Bastar rebellion:

In 1905, the colonial government proposed to reserve 2/3 of the forest and stop shifting cultivation, hunting and collection of forest produce.
Some villages were allowed to stay in forests on the condition that they would work free for them.
People of other villages were eliminated without notice.
They faced rents and poverty.
The terrible famines came twice in 1899-1900 and 1907-1908, turned in rebellion.

Consequences:

Bazaars were looted and grains redistributed.

Houses of officials and traders, schools and police stations were burnt and robbed.

Those who oppressed were attacked.

work on reservation was temporarily suspended. The area marked for reservation was reduced to half of what was planned.
