blood is a special kind of fluid which flows in tubular structures called blood vessels. Blood transports oxygen from lungs to all the body cells.

Blood is composed of plasma and blood cells. Blood cells are of 3 types-

RED BLOOD CELL(RBC)- they are presend in blood and are responsible for absorbimg oxygen from air we breathe in and transporting it to all the cells of the body. The red colour of the blood is due to a pigment called haemoglobin. It is a respiratory pigment.

WHITE BLOOD CELLS(WBC)- They help in building the immune system of the body by eating the disease causing germs(phagpcytosis).

PLATELETS- They help in clotting of blood to prevent blood loss, in case of external or internal injury.
