Hi.
here is your answer. .
BLOOD COAGULATION :--
Inside an intact blood vessels, blood does not coagulate or clot due to presence of active anticoagulants.
As soon as a blood vessels ruptures , bleeding starts. The conversion of liquid blood into semisolid jelly is called blood coagulation or clotting.
The platelets and injured tissue release thromboplatin , which initiate the formation of enzyme prothrombinase in the blood.
The prothrombinase in presence of Ca ions convertes soluble fibrogen into insoluble fibrin. The fibrin fibres enmesh platelets, blood cells and plasma to form the clot. The normal blood clotting time is 2 to 8 minutes.
hope it helps you ☺

Blood Coagulation refers to the clotting of blood.
- In this process, Blood changes from liquid to a semi solid state like a gel to prevent further loss of blood from broken blood cells.
- Blood therefore is saved from excess loss through coagulation.
- The gel that comes from the blood to the damaged spot is called a platelet.
- Platelet is the component of blood which clots the blood or makes it thicker to stop the flow of blood, Later a protein coat is formed to make a new skin.
