your answer

The brain consists of the cerebrum, the brainstem and the cerebellum. It controls most of the activities of the body, processing, integrating, and coordinating the information it receives from the sense organs, and making decisions as to the instructions sent to the rest of the body.

Hey there!

Here is your answer.

The Brain is the command center for the nervous system. It receives input from the sensory organs and sends output to the muscles. The human brain has the same basic structure as other mammal brains, but is larger in relation to body size than any other brains

Brain is enclosed in brain box (Cranium) and protected by a cerebrospinal fluid which acts as shock absorber. It has several layers called MENINGES.

Spinal Cord: Spinal Cord is enclosed in Vertebral column.

Human brain has three major parts:

(a) Fore-brain

(b) Mid Brain

(c) Hind Brain.

(a) Fore-brain (CEREBRUM) – Fore brain is the most specialized/complex part of the brain.

Functions

Thinking part of the brain

2. Control the voluntary actions.

3. Memory storage – Store information

4. Centre associated with HUNGER

5. Receives sensory impulses from various body parts and integrates it

(b) Mid Brain

It connects the hind-brain with the fore-brain. It is the part of the central nervous system associated with vision, arousal (alertness), motor control, sleep/wake, hearing, and temperature regulation.

(c) Hind-Brain – Consists – Cerebellum, Medulla, and Pons

Maintains Posture and Balance of the body

Control body movement

Controls involuntary actions eg – salivation, blood pressure, vomiting

Regulation of respiration.

Hope this helps.

Have a great day ahead!
