Category of ministers in state cabinet:

The Constitution in India grants each state a parliamentary system of state concerned level. The Governor holds the position of the constitutional and nominal executive head of state. But the power is vested in reality to the Chief Minister who is backed by a group of ministers who govern the state for a particular tenure.

The party which achieves the majority of votes in Assembly elections governs with the Chief Minister selected within them. The Governor officially gives the power to him after it. After that Chief Minister selects other ministers which account for 15% of strength. The Ministers are divided into two

• Cabinet ministers - where the ministers are given supreme charge of chief departments like finance, home affairs, health, education, etc. The Chief minister and rest cabinet ministers together form State Cabinet.
• Ministers of State - they form second-tier ministers and associate with cabinet ministers to help each department.
