The cell division is a process in which the mother cell gives two or more daughter cells. The cell division can be explained with the help of cell cycle. The longest phase in the cell cycle is interphase. It is also known as resting phase. But this doesn’t mean that the cell takes rest. Division of cell doesn’t take place but the cell is metabolically active. It consists of 3 phases:- G1 Phase, S Phase, G2 phase and sometimes G0 Phase. After the interphase the cell may go for mitosis or meosis.
