● Dandi march was an event of Civil Disobedience Movement .
● Gandhi wrote a letter to Lord Irwin containing eleven demands which was not accepted.
● Abolition of salt tax was one of themOn 12 march 1930, Gandhiji left his ashram at Sabarmati, after a short prayer with 78 delegates.
● He marched 200  miles to Dandi, and gained momentum on his way as others joined himOn April 6, 1930 Gandhi broke salt law.
● This sparked off a civil disobedience movement nationwide.
