On 12 March 1930, Mahatma Gandhi started the Dandi March from Sabarmati Ashram towards the small coastal village of Dandi.
It is also known as Salt March. It was an act of non violent civil disobedience in colonial led by Gandhi to produce salt from the seawater in the village of Dandi.
