On the 2nd of March 1930, Gandhi wrote a long letter to the viceroy of India about his plan of the Civil Disobedience Movement. ON 12 MARCH 1930 Gandhi started a long march(~24 days) from HIS SABARMATI ASHRAM to DANDI in Gujrat. This marked the beginning of the most Renowned CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE MOVEMENT. On April 5th he reached dandi and on the morning of 6th April of 1930 he picked a handful of salt made naturally by the sea in defiance of the laws as a symbol of breaking the salt tax. this movement symbolised defiance of British laws
