There are mainly three common refractive defects of vision. These are (i) myopia or near-sightedness (ii) Hypermetropia or far – sightedness (iii) Presbyopia. Myopia is also known as near-sightedness. A person with myopia can see nearby objects clearly but cannot see distant objects distinctly.blindness and eye cancer are also the defects of vision.

2)hypermetropia: it is also known as farsightedness a person suffering with hypermetropia can see distant objects clearly but cannot see nearby objects distinctly it can be corrected using the convex lens of appropriate power.

3) presbyopia :the power of accommodation of eye usually decreases the ageing . a person suffering from myopia can be corrected using a common type of bifocal lenses consists of both concave and convex mirror.
