Density equals the mass of the substance divided by its volume; D = m/v. Objects with the same volume but different mass have different densities

paarth25: this doesn't answer my question
paarth25: and it is from the internet
Rosetheace: Mathematically, density is defined as mass divided by volume: ... Thus a relative density less than one means that the substance floats in water. Thedensity of a material varies with temperature and pressure. This variation is typically small for solidsand liquids but much greater for gases.
