the eastern coastal plains refers to a wide stretch of landmass of India lying between the eastern ghats and the bay of Bengal.

the coastal plain is a flat low lying land adjacent to a sea coast .

Eastern Coastal plains :-
1.They are divided into two parts :- Northern Circars and Coromandel Coast .
2.The rivers flowing in this region forms deltas.
3.They have many tributaries and distributaries.
4.The rivers flows into Bay of Bengal.
5.The eastern coastal plains are slightly larger than western coastal plains.

Western Coastal plains :-
1.They are divided into 3 parts :- Konkar coast , Kannad coast and Malabar coast .
2.The rivers flowing in this region forms estuaries.
3.The rivers don't have many distributaries that is why there volume is very high.
4.The rivers flows into Arabian sea.
5.The western coastal plains are parallel to Arabian sea and Western Ghats.
