The solar eclipse occurs when the moon comes in between the earth and the sun shadow of the moon falls on the earth. It always occurs on new moom day.The lunar eclipse takes place when the earth falls between the sun and the moon. The shadow of the earth falls on the moon. Then we say it is lunar eclipse. It always happens on full moon day (Pooranmashi). This phenomenon of nature has a religious sanctity. It is said: Rahu and Ketu, the demon gods (Sign of Zodiac) attack the sun. The Sun-god is in their tight grip. We in India are God-fearing and merciful.
