Epithelial tissue is a simplest tissue. An epithelial tissue is composed of one or more layers of cells covering the external surface of the body and internal organs.
Functions:
1. Protects from injury, drying and microbial infection.
2. Absorption of water and nutrients.
3. Elimination of waste products.
4. Secrets sweat,saliva,mucus and enzymes.
5. Lining of mouth and alimentary canal and give protection to organs.

Epithilial tissue is a Annimal Tissue

It is a covering or protective tissues in the animal body. It also forms a barrier to keep different body system separate. Epithelial tissue cells are tightly packed and form a continuos sheet. The have only small amount of cementing material between them and no intercellular spaces. Lining of mouth, the skin, the lining of blood vessels, lung alveoli and kidney tubules are all made of apithelial tissue.
