Answer:

The hypothalamus is located below the cerebral cortex at the base of the diencephalon. The primary role of the hypothalamus is the central regulation of homeostasis, which occurs through interfacing with the endocrine system, the autonomic nervous system, and the limbic system.

Answer:

1.Diencephalon is the posteroventral part of the forebrain.

In general, its roof is called epithalamus, the base is called hypothalamus and sides are called optic thalami.

The diencephalon relays sensory information between brain regions and controls many autonomic functions of the peripheral nervous system.

It links the structures of the endocrine system with the nervous system and closely works with the limbic system structures to generate and manage emotions.

2. Functions of cerebrum:

1. The cerebrum controls the voluntary activities.

2. It responds to vision, taste, smell, sound, touch, speech etc

3. Centre for micturition, defecation, weeping, laughing.

4. It is also the centre of memory, intelligence, will power, reasoning, learning.

5. Emotion, fear, pressure, temperature, feelings are controlled by cerebrum.
