Greco-Roman culture have developed largely during Kushan dynasty and was similar with an important but dissimilar school of Kushan art, Mathura.  

1st century rulers of Kushan empire which included Gandhara maintained connections with Rome.

Unique style of Buddhist sculpture called Gandhara art developed in old times in Gandhara region of Indian subcontinent in whats now northwestern Pakistan.
