The river ganga is known as the life of the Indians because the ganga river provide water to drink not only for the drinking but there are so many work is done by the ganga river such as agriculture,need of water for domestic purposes.

In the way that The Ganga river is more useful for the people and in the another hand the water in the Ganga river get polluted due to the Sewage and present toxic chemicals and wastes which are releasing by the industries,houses etc.

To prevent all this the ' Ganga action plan ' was launched by Shri Rajeev Gandhi at that time he was the Prime minister of India and when this action was launched in India on 14 jan in 1986.

The main objective of this mission was to stop the pollution abatement, to improve the quality by interception, and treatment of the domestic Sewage and present chemicals and toxins which comes from the industries.
