Green Revolution or the Agricultural Revolution is the set of research technology transfer initiatives that occured between 1950s and late 1960 .

It occured in some of the northern parts of the country such as Punjab , haryana , Some parts of Uttar pradesh and Bihar in order to increase the yielding capacity of the land using different modern methods of agriculture like pesticides and fertilisers instead of organic manure , HYVs of seeds instead of traditional seeds , multiple cropping, etc.
