Pituitary Gland secretes growth hormone.

In addition to increasing height in children and adolescents, growth hormone has many other effects on the body: Increases calcium retention, and strengthens and increases the mineralization of bone. Increases muscle mass through sarcomere hypertrophy. Promotes lipolysis. Increases protein synthesis.

growth \: hormone

Growth hormone controls the growth of our body. Growth hormone is secreted by the pituitary gland. Growth hormone acts on many parts of the body to promote growth in children.

Once the growth plates in the bones ( epiphyses ) have fused growth hormone does not increase height.

♥️ The disease caused due to over secretion of growth hormone is called the gigantism which makes the person very tall.

♥️ The disease caused due to under secretion of growth hormone is called the dwarfism which makes the person very small.
