The months of March, April and May are the summer months in India. Deccan Plateau records the highest day temperatures in March. Compared to northern India, peninsular India, remains cooler due to the influence of the oceans. The summer months are a period of exceedingly rising temperature and declining air pressure in the northern half of the country.

the cold weather season starts from nov and ends only after  feb. the avg temp of chennai on the eastern coast is between 24-25 deg c frost is common in the north .during the season the northeast trade winds prevailover the country .
