In medieval age copper plates were used for inscriptions. These inscription were mostly dedicated to a temple or about the achievements of a particular king.

There are many inscriptions like:

COINS: Coins not only give us a lot of informations but are often masterpieces of art. The Gupta period coins are still regarded as one of the finest example of Indian art. The kushana rulers were the first to use gold coins which points towards their wealth and prosperity.

MONUMENTS:Medieval India is known for its monuments. This period include the beautiful Taj Mahal. The monuments not only help us to know about the political,social and economic conditions of that time but also current level of advancement of arts and architecture.

PAINTINGS.Painting helps us to know about many details of the culture and society of any time period. they tell us about the different social customs, the way of dressing, jewellery, impact on village life and city life and so on.

LITERARY WORKS:Different authors writers and kings have contributed the medieval literature. They are Prithviraj Raso by Chand Bardai, Baburnama by Babur, Akbarnama by Abul Fazal, Geeta Govinda and so on.

TRAVELOGUES: Travellers, traders and pilgrims from different countries visited India during the medieval period. Alberuni who came with muhmud of Ghazni wrote Tahqiq-I-Hindi. Ibn Batuta, a traveler from Morocco visited India during the reign of Muhammad-bin-Tughlaq.
