A close study of Iqbal's works show that, for Iqbal, the political ideology of Pakistan would primarily be composed of two basic element, the Quranic concept of the universal Millah (community) and his concept of the Self (Khudi).
It was within such an ideological framework that Iqbal was confronted with the problem of redifining the political status of the Indian Muslims in accordance with the contemporary political terminology.
To achieve this objective, he expounded the Two-Nation theory as the basis for claiming the right of self-determination of the Indian Muslims for carving out a separate Muslim State.
Ummah in urdu refers to a community. Muhammed Iqbal, a poet, a philosopher brought a revolutionary change in Muslim ummah or community.
He felt that the golden days of muslims community had long gone and they were now only subjected to suppression, becoming victim to not only social but psychological and superstition traps.
Losing the unity, Iqbal had a dire desire to bring his beloved brothers under one community and made all efforts to make it much more habitable and peace loving.
Through his numerous, beautiful poems he very eloquently posed the problems and the solutions in words of Allah.
He was not only compassionate but had a sense of humanity and wanted to spread peace and harmony to every individual.
