IRRIGATION : The process of watering the plants at regular intervals is called irrigation.
Irrigation is done after sowing of seeds and adding manure and fertilisers so that the fertilisers get easily absorb with the water through the roots.
There are two types of irrigation :-
⚫ SPRINKLER SYSTEM : In these system the crops or the plants are watered by sprinkers. Sprinklers have rotating nozzles through which the water is sprinkled all over the field. It is generally practiced in dry seasons and uneven lands like hilly areas.
⚫ DRIP IRRIGATION : In these method the water falls drop by drop into the ground near the roots. In these method water is not wasted at all, as it falls drop by drop. Water is carried by pipes or by bamboos, where the bamboos act as pipes which are kept vertically and small holes are made in bamboos so that water falls drop by drop. This is called Bamboo drip irrigation.
