After the famous “Dandi march “ or salt march of 1930. There was negotiations between Gandhiji and the then viceroy of India - Lord Irwin. Which culminated into the “Gandhi-Irwin pact”. Under this pact, gandhiji agreed to stop the civil disobedience movement on the condition that the Salt tax will be removed and salt manufacture allowed along on the coast and all the leaders jailed during the cdm will be released .
This pact was widely criticised by radical nationalists since Gandhiji was unable to obtain the commitment for “Swaraj” or full independence from the Viceroy.
This pact also resulted in Gandhiji attending the 2nd round table confrence held in London,1931.
I hope it's help uh.....
