write a short note on metals nonmetals and noble gases
Answers
✏️Metals are typically malleable (they can be hammered into thin sheets) or ductile (can be drawn into wires). A metal may be a chemical element such as iron, or an alloy such as stainless steel.
✏️A non metal is also a good insulator for heat and cold. Usually, gases or brittle solids are non-metals. Elements on the periodic table can be classified as metal, semimetal, or non-metal. Five times more elements are metals than nonmetals.
✏️The noble gases are the chemical elements in group 18 of the periodic table. They are the most stable due to having the maximum number of valence electrons their outer shell can hold.

A metal is a solid material which is typically hard, shiny, malleable, fusible, and ductile, with good electrical and thermal conductivity example iron, gold, silver, and aluminium, and alloys such as steel. Metals are sometimes described as a lattice of positive ions surrounded by a cloud of delocalized electrons.
Nonmetal is an element that doesn't have the characteristics of metal including: ability to conduct heat or electricity, luster, or flexibility. An example of a nonmetal element is carbon. Non-metals are not able to conduct electricity or heat very well. As opposed to metals, non-metallic elements are very brittle, and cannot be rolled into wires or pounded into sheets. The non metals exist in two of the three states of matter at room temperature: gases and solid.
The noble gases, in order of their density, are helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon and radon. They are called noble gases because they are so majestic that, in general, they don't react with anything. For this reason they are also known as inert gases.
