Meteorology is the scientific study of atmosphere. Meteorological phenomena are observable weather events that are explained by the science of meteorology. Meteorological phenomena are described and quantified by variables of earth's atmosphere,temperature,air pressure,water vapour,mass flow and the variations and interactions of those variables, and how they change over time. The beginning of meteorology can be tracked back to India. In 350 bc aristotle wrote meteorology. He was the founder of this meteorology science.

Meteorology is the science that studies the inter- relationships between the various components of air, natural cycles,geological movements of the earth and climate. It includes the study of storms ,clouds,rainfall,thunder,lightning,etc.Depending upon the study of such factors, whether forecasts are made.They are useful to common people ,farmers,fisheries ,aviation services, water transport and various other organizations. For this purpose ,on the international level.,The world Meteorological Organization was established whereas on national level there is Indian Meteorological Department.
