Muhammad Bin Tughlaq received the title of Ulugh Khan from Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq for his meritorious services. He was the most learnt Sultan of the Delhi sultanate. He was a lover of a art, a culture scholar of philosophy, mathematics, astronomy and Physical Sciences, a brilliant calligraphist and a fairly good poet. We learn much about the reign of him and the sultan's character from the book Rehala written by the local scholar and Traveller Ibn Battuta.
