The National Disaster Response Force(NDRF) is a specialised force constituted "for the purpose of specialist response to a threatening disaster situation or disaster" under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.:section 44–45 The "Apex Body for Disaster Management"in India is the National Disaster Management Authority(NDMA). The Chairman of the NDMA is the Prime Minister.

Short note on N.D.R.F (National Disaster Response Force) -

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) protects the general public from natural calamities and rescues them to a safe place.

NDRF is a civil defense police force. It has been constituted under the Disaster Management Act 2005; it has the specialty to overcome the problems arising during an emergency or disaster, and they are given the training to deal with each situation. It is to help people in natural calamities like floods, storms, earthquakes, etc.

The NDRF force was formed in the year 2005 with a 12-battalion paramilitary lines force, having 3 Border Security Force (BSF), 3 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), 2 Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), 2 Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and 2 Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

This paramilitary lines force is stationed at various places in the country where natural disasters are most likely to occur.
