Well.....you are partially correct. Let me explain.

The Nile Valley, for example, is an area that is still quite full of plants, trees and foliage, because it is fed by the Nile River.In the North of the Sahara Desert, along the Mediterranean, there are also olive trees growing rapidly.
 The doum palm, date palm and oleander; as well as herbs such as thyme are located in the Saharan highlands.
