Nuclear power is the use of nuclear reactions that release nuclear energy to generate heat, which most frequently is then used in steam turbines to produce electricity in a nuclear power plant. As a nuclear technology, nuclear power can be obtained from nuclear fission, nuclear decay and nuclear fusion reactions.

Nuclear energy is the energy that holds together the nuclei of atoms. Atoms are the most simple blocks that make up matter. Every atom has in its center a very small nucleus. ... Nuclear fusion is the combining of two light atoms into a heavier one and nuclearfission is the splitting of a heavy atom.

An example of nuclear energy is the electricity generated by a nuclear reactor, which is the major power source used in Japan.

Nuclear energy can be used to create electricity, but it must first be released from the atom. In nuclear fission, atoms are split to release the energy. A nuclear reactor, or powerplant, is a series of machines that can control nuclear fission to produce electricity

A clean energy resource. Nuclear energyoriginates from the splitting of uranium atoms– a process called fission. This generates heat to produce steam, which is used by a turbine generator to generate electricity. Because nuclear power plants do not burn fuel, they do not produce greenhouse gas emissions
