After the failure if the cripps mission Gandhi decided to launch his third movement against the British . Other factors which led to the Quit india movement was the fear of Japan attacking india.Terror in east india company and the fact is that the british could not defend the country anymore. According ,1942 Gandhi launched the queit india movement ,also known as august movement on the basis of the resolution passed on 8 august , 1942 in Bombay by all india congress committee, declaring its demand for an immediate end of the British rule .
