about rabied..
the bite of a rabid dog such as mad dog and some other rabid mammals such as monkeys, cats, rabbits may cause rabies. its a fatal virus disease caused by a rabies virus or lyssa virus which is present in the saliva of the infected animals. the viruses are injected into the human blood by the bite of the rabid animals.. this disease symptoms are not visible after infection even up to 1-3 months.
symptoms : it is characterised by severe headaches, high fever, swallowing.. the patient feels like restless. when the patient develops fear of the water, the disease is also called as hydrophobia.
prevention : cleaning the wound with carbolic soap and clear water immediately after the dog bite. any antiseptic medicine e.g dettol. should be applied to the wound caused by dog bite..
control : rabies can treated with pasteur's treatment, in which a course of 14 vaccines are given... currently 5 anti-rabies vaccines are prescribed at an interval of 0-3-7-14-30. day of the dog bite.
