Rani laxmibai was known to be the face of the 1857 rebellion against the Britishers. Her valor and courage gave the British government a very tough time. Lakshmibai (her actual name was Manikarnika) is known as the Rani of Jhansi. She was married to the Maharaja of Jhansi (a princely state).
