   Conclusion about policies on reservations.

My opinion is that any reservations for certain castes, religions, classes, or regions is discrimination of some people.  There should not be reservations based on these factors. We know that certain people are backward in the society. Provide them food, education and facilities as required.

When it comes to reservations in jobs and educational seats, we should look at the economical status only.  In 21st century the main difference in status is measured by property and richness of people. So using caste to decide backwardness is not appropriate.

Also descendents of those who benefited from reservations, should not be given further reservations.  For example if a candidate was given a government job on the basis of SC, ST or OBC category, then that person's children should not be given jobs and educational seats on the basis of SC, ST or OBC category.  Those opportunities can be given to families who had not utilized reservations at all so far.  This will avoid unfair advantage taken by some families belonging to these categories.

But political backing and issues related to reservations are too complicated. All parties want to implement them and get votes.  Now we also have religion based reservations.  So for poor candidates belonging to upper castes, life has become terrible. Unemployment increased very badly among the forward castes.
