The salt satyagraha also known as dandi march or salt march was an act of civil disobedience. It was a march initiated by Mahatma gandhi to produce salt from seawater.78 people began the march with Gandhiji,who intented to walk 240 miles to the coastal village of Dandi which was located in the small town called Navsari in Gujarat.The congress party planed to stage a satyagraha st dharsana salt works 25 miles south of Dandi. Im just giving the key terms.
In Jan 1930 Ultimatum 11 demands of all sections of society was sent.
Govt monopoly over salt manufacture and salt tax were the main reasons.

Gandhiji said that If the demands were not fulfilled on or before March11,movement would be started .
Even thenLord Irwin did not respond.

Gandhiji started Salt Satyagraha .
12 March 1930. Satyagraha started.
Sabarmati to Dandi
240 miles 10 miles per day
