After fertilisation,the ovary begins to grow and forms the fruit.
The fruit may be sweet and juicy,or may be hard and woody .
The fruit is ,thus ,actually a ripened ovary .

After the formation of zygote following changes

occur in a flower.

(a) Bright colour of flower is lost.

(b) Except ovary, all the parts of flower fall off.

(d) Meanwhile, the walls of ovule become hard.

(e) Thus, the ovule transforms itself into seed.

(f) As the seeds form, the ovary increases in size and becomes fruit.

(g) The ovary wall becomes the fruit wall.
