We smell things by our nose, taste by tongue, hear by ear, see objects by eyes and feel something by our skin.

The nose contains mucus coated receptors which help in receiving the sense of smell and called olfactory receptors. These are made up of epithelium that consists of three kinds of cells. The neurons present in the olfactory epithelium came out from the outside environment directly into a pair of broad bean sized organ called olfactory bulb.

In actually Both nose and tongue detect dissolved chemicals. The chemical senses of gustation or taste and olfactory (smell) are functionally similar and interrelated.

The tongue detects testes through taste buds, containing many gustatory receptors. With each taste of food or sip of drink, then the brain integrates the different input from the taste buds and a complex flavour is perceived.

By the help of skin we are able to feel the environment and even skin helps in regulation of body temperature. Also provides protection from other external things.Ear is also a sense organ which help us in hearing and maintaining the body balance.

As we know all sence organs are very important but in my view the most important sence organ is eye. Even we can't think how we will able to enjoy the environment if we can't see anything. In the eyes the image is formed on retina by the help of eye lens which is real and inverted.

Answer:

An organ that has nerve endings which is capable of detecting and reacting to a stimulus is called a sense organ.

In humans basically there are five sense organs, eyes, nose, ears, skin and tongue.

Each of these five senses consist of organs that have specialized cellular structures that have receptors for specific stimuli ( for example nose have receptors for smelling ), these cells have links to the nervous system and then to the brain.
