This is a farming system in which a plot of land is cleared and cultivated for sometime till the soil nutrients run out after which the farmers moves on to a new plot of land.It is also known as slash and Burn agriculture.This agriculture is known by different names in different countries
Jhumming in North East India,Milpa in Mexico and Roca in Brazil.
This type of farming can be carried in low population Areas,where enough land is available to be cultivated.It is mostly practised in the thickly forested areas of Amazon basin,tropical Africa,parts of Southeast Asia and North East Asia.
