The Himalayan mountain which are loftiest ,rugged mountains have 3 parallel ranges in its longitudinal extent. shiwaliks are the outermost range of Himalayas . their width is about 10 - 50 km they have varying altitude that is 900-1100m. they contain unconsolidated sediments brought down by rivers.
