Smooth muscles are also known as unstriated muscles. Smooth muscles occur as bundles of cells or fibres. These are held together by loose connective tissue. Each muscle cell is enclosed in a plasma membrane. They are found in walls of hollow visceral organs such as alimentary canal and stomach.
They do not work according to our will. They can remain contracted for long periods of time. The type of muscle in 'b' is smooth muscle.
