Explanation:

" A solid has a definite shape and definite volume." The particles are tightly packed in solids. The intermolecular force of attraction is very strong and intermolecular space is almost negligible. The particles are not free to move.

They can only vibrate about their mean position.

Solids are rigid and incompressible.

Eg: wood,. stone etc..

Amongst the solids all the metals have lustre.
