Sowing is the process of distributing seeds in a prepared patch of land, for it to germinate and grow into plants. Major crops like rice, wheat, oats, rye etc. are sown.

Hand sowing involves spreading handful of seeds over a prepared patch of land and covering it with a little soil or sometime, leaving it as it is, to germinate.

Weeding is the process of removing unwanted plants and growth from a field of crop. Weeds are pulled out manually by hand or killed by the use of weedicides.
