It is a method of applying irrigation water which is similar to natural rainfall. Water is distributed through a system of pipes usually by pumping.

This system is more useful on the uneven land where sufficient water is not available. The perpendicular pipes having rotating nozzles on the top are joined to the main pipelines at regular interval. The water is allowed to pump, it escapes from the rotation nozzles. It gets sprinkled on the crops as if it's raining. This method is very useful in Sandy soil.
