➡In Mexico Olympic , the two blacks John Carlos and Tommie Smith had won the Gold and Bronze medals respectively. But as they were black , they were given their medals without socks and shoes to Symbolize BLACK POVERTY.

➡Thus, when the national anthem was being played , they bent their heads with a clench fist . They were held guilty for violating the Olympic spirit by making a Political Statement.

➡There medals were taken back and they were subjected to a lot of humiliation . They were prevented from participating in the next Olympics .
