Thomas "Tom" Cat is a fictional character and one of the title characters (the other being Jerry Mouse) in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's series of Tom and Jerry theatrical cartoon short films. Created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, Tom is a blue/greyanthropomorphic domestic short-haired cat who first appeared in the 1940 MGM animated short Puss Gets the Boot.Tom was originally known as "Jasper" during his debut in that short; however, beginning with his next appearance inThe Midnight Snack he is known as "Tom" or "Thomas".

Tom and Jerry, is a story of a cat and a mouse who always fight, but their friendship lives forever. It airs in cartoon network. It is the most famous rivalry. The main characters are obviously, tom and jerry. Some other characters include spike and tyke. It was created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbara. Tom rarely succeds in catching jerry. Jerry is extremely clever and always outwits tom. The cartoon is sometimes known as the most violent as tom uses axe, hammer, poison ,etc to kill jerry. Tom and Jerry is one of the most popular TV shows amongst the kids including me!
